Fluka 4 Optical Photon Error

Dear Fluka Experts,

To test how the new Fluka 4.0 handles with optical photons, I created a simple case, in which a directed pencil beam of optical photons irradiates a slab of water. When I run the example on Fluka 2011-3, it calculates well and provide reasonable output. When I run the example on Fluka 4.0, it provides error and does not calculate. I tried to run both cases on Fedora 31 with Gfortran 9.2.1 and on Fedora 32 with Gfortran 10.1. The result was the same. Could you please tell me what is the reason of such behavior?

thank you for reporting the issue.

There is a bug in FLUKA 4, causing the crash with optical photons. Please be patient and keep using FLUKA 2011-3.0 until the fixed package is released.
