Starting Phase Space Particles on Boundaries

I know it has been stated that input beams should not be generated on boundaries.

However, when generating a phase space for a multi-step simulation with BXDRAW, which by definition records particle information on a boundary, and then using that phase space as an input, my new input “beam” generated from a phase space will be on a boundary.

Is generating particles on boundaries between materials from a phase space problematic?

Not really, we do it regularly for two-step simulations. The recorded information on the particle direction normally allows the second step to safely start moving particles into the new region.

Thanks. I figured as much.
