About include files in mgdraw.f

Dear FLUKA experts,

I am currently using the mgdraw.f file for calculations, and I have some questions regarding the included files. First, in trackr.inc, does JTRACK refer to the incident particle or the particle after the reaction? If I set LTACK=1, does it mean that I only want the reaction products from the first-generation incident particles?
Secondly, regarding the files fheavy.inc, genstk.inc, and resnuc.inc, what kind of products can be obtained from each of them?
Finally, when I use resnuc.inc to obtain the kinetic energy of the products, the results are either zero or negative. What could be the reason for this?

Thanks a lot in advance

Best regards

JTRACK gives the identity of the incident particle.
Setting the condition
IF (LTRACK.EQ.1) THEN
you limit indeed your analysis to the reaction products from the first-generation incident particles.
Light particles are found in genstk.inc, fragmentation and fission products are in fheavy.inc, as well as residual nuclei from low-energy neutron interactions, other residual nuclei are in resnuc.inc. Anyway, you may want to inspect the three of them to get the full picture of the reaction products.
If a residual nucleus is actually stored in resnuc.inc, its kinetic energy EKRES cannot take a negative value.

Dear Francesco,

Do you mean that the information stored in resnuc.inc does not overlap at all with what is stored in fheavy.inc and genstk.inc?

So, for reactions involving low-energy neutrons, is resnuc.inc never used?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

It does not, it’s complementary.

Indeed, the residual nucleus can be found in fheavy.inc instead.
