AUTOIMBS card settings

Description

Dear FLUKA Experts,
I ran a simulation of a simple point source of Co-60 and Cs-137 inside a building to evaluate the dose in air spheres located at various locations along the same direction (DETn regions). For the first time, I used AUTOIMBS card to improve the statistics of the simulation but I dind’t obtain satisfactory results for more distant spheres (bnn.lis file).

41iauto.flair (5.5 KB)

41iauto.inp (4.0 KB)

41iauto_22.bnn.lis (775 Bytes)

source.f (9.1 KB)

Looking at the biasing maps, it seems that the importance biasing is applied isotropically and not in the direction where dose points are located (regions of interest).

My questions are:

  1. Can you check my input file to verifiy if I’m using correctly AUTOIMBS card?
  2. Where I can check in the output file the FOM of the simulation to establish what biasing method is better than others?

Thank you in advance

Cheers,

Corrado

In my simulation, I also faced such an issue. So I am also interested in the answer to this question that might help me solve my problem as well.

Any comment is appreciated ~~

Dear Mahdi,

thank you for adding your feedback here.

At this stage, my best advice is to add a AUTOIMBS card with SDUM=CONFIG and WHAT(3)=1 to bias delayed radiation. See also note 4 on the same page of the FLUKA Manual.

I am in contact with Corrado to dig more into the issue and will surely write a final answer here.

Best regards,

Tommaso
