JOB POSITION (POSTDOC)- MONTE CARLO SIMULATIONS - RADIATION PROTECTION

A position will be filled through a temporary full-time contract, structured as a training contract. The role is classified as Specialized Scientific Personnel within the Radiation Protection Service. The contract duration is one year. The annual gross salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and will range between €37,135 and €42,621.

The working languages at the CLPU are both Spanish and English, used interchangeably.

  • Conducting Monte Carlo simulations for safety and radiological protection studies related to the CLPU’s Radioactive Installation.
  • Collaborating with the Radiological Protection Service in managing and participating in experimental campaigns with the VEGA laser system, including analyzing radiological risks and determining the source term (or accelerator-defining term) for each campaign or experiment category.
  • Running simulations of sources to be implemented in future experimental lines at the CLPU.
  • Assisting the Radiological Protection Service in the development of reports for the ongoing assessment of radiological risks.
  • Preparing and developing scientific publications and conference presentations within the scope of activities conducted with the Radiological Protection Service.
