Detector efficiency

Dear experts,

I am trying to calculate detector efficiency by using DETECT card. I run my simulation according to paper (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.radphyschem.2016.03.020) and from the data I got 1.089E-03 for Co-60 energy of 1.173 MeV.

DETECT card scores energy deposition event by event, therefore I multiply the result (1.089E-03) by the number of primaries (10^5 for 10 cycle), and divided the same value according to the formula E=Nsim/N (so I got 1.089E-03) I can’t reach the experimental value from the paper which is 1.87x10^-3.

I also updated my input file by adding DELTARAY card as the following, then I got the value 1.104E-03. But still it s far from the experimantal value

2nd question; to apply DETGEB card, should I run simulation with loop for all energy step?

I attached the paper and my input file.
I’d be thankful for your help.

(Edit: Uploaded paper replaced with link - horvathd)

I overcome the discrepancy between fluka value and the experimental value by leaving deltap null and adjusting the distance between source and the detector. However my 2nd question (about DETGEB card) still stands.

Hi @mgulmen

Sorry for the late reply. Could you please elaborate a bit on your second question that you still want to resolve? What is that you want to loop over exactly?

Cheers,
