I am using two cards USRBDX and USRYIELD to measure the neutron yield in a specific volume.
Now the question is, if there are 5 repeats of neutrons between which regions (due to back scattering or other factors), do the two cards count the same particle incident as 1 or 5?
(If possible, I am also curious about the case of Φ1 and Φ2 of USRBDX.)
I would be very grateful if you could answer this question.
USRBDX and USRYIELD do not measure the neutron yield in a specific volume, rather on a boundary surface. If one particle crosses the surface multiple times, it is naturally counted multiple times, both for current and fluence scoring. By the way, it has little sense to establish if it is the same particle or a different one, for instance as a result of a (n.n’) reaction.
