Electronuclear interaction

Dear FLUKA experts,

I’m doing various tests of FLUKA that detect neutrons using electron beams.
Various materials such as Al, Pb, and water were used as dump materials, but neutrons were not detected in any of them.
Two scorers are used, usrbdx and usryield. I think the current setting doesn’t cause any electronuclear reaction. What’s the problem? Or could something else be causing this problem?
I will attach my inp file and geometry.

Sincerely,
Changhui

Dear @logan12,

I can actually see neutrons produced in your simulation.
Below there is the plot of you USRBDX scoring, I didn’t change anything in your input

I have also added a USRBIN scoring for neutrons whose result looks like this:

I would say that maybe you didn’t run enough primaries.
Also, notice that your target is located between -25 cm and 0 cm in y, while your beam starts at y=0, therefore it is grazing the target. I’m not sure if this is what you are actually interested in.
Last, I would recommend you to always add a USRBIN scoring to control the particle distribution overall your geometry.

Dear amario,

I really appreciate your answer.
I’m still not sure if it’s responding well, but I figured out what my mistake was and now the neutrons are being detected.

Thank you,
Changhui
