Dear Fluka Expert,What I did was to use neutrons to hit the BF3 proportional counter tube. Three cards, usrtrack, resnucleus, and usrbin, were used to calculate the energy response. In the summary result of usrtrack, is the result of the usrtrack card (p/cmq/pr)? Can energy response be obtained by utilizing the energy deposition of the usrbin card? If possible, what is the specific calculation method? thank!
Dear Guanzhou Ding,
A more general reply is, that output of USRTRACK card provides an energy differential data, so output will be given in p/GeV/cmq/pr (except of total responce integral in the beginig of the file). The energy spectrum can be visualized using a standard Flair USR-1D plot card/tool in the plot tab. Also, you can access *_tab.lis card and process is according to your needs.
However, up to my understanding of the task described in the question, the ratio of the incident primaries energy to the produced secondary electrons/ions number or energy deposition is required.
I may suggest to calculate responce for certain monocromatic beams using USRBIN cards.
Another solution, which is analysing of statistics for the tracking of separate primaries, and than calculation of the response function can be non-trivial. It can be done with USRDUMP card (and optionally related MGDRAW user routine) that provides continious particle trajectories and energy loss file, so primary energy dependent energy deposition can be obtained.
However, it will require more detailed data analisis and probably programming.
Kind regards,
Illia
