Flair will not start 19.10 install from repository

Hi,

I was using flair with ubuntu 19.04, installed from the repository and it was working fine.

However, I just upgraded to 19.10 and now flair no longer starts. I am connecting to the machine through ssh.

I have removed and reinstalled flair but no luck. I always get the following message.

X Error of failed request: BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib length error)
Major opcode of failed request: 138 (RENDER)
Minor opcode of failed request: 20 (RenderAddGlyphs)
Serial number of failed request: 863
Current serial number in output stream: 874

I tried reinstalling the graphics driver and some fonts that I found online as a potential solution to this problem but did not work.

F.y.i. Other graphical environments applications work through the same ssh connection (e.g. gvim, glxgears, xeyes etc).

Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards

Lefteris

@eskordis could it be that when you upgraded the system you have the old entry in the /etc/ap/sources.list.d/flair.list.

Could you uninstall and reinstall flair and geoviewer
apt remove flair flair-geoviewer
apt install flair

@vasilis Thanks for your suggestion.
There was no flair.list in the path you mention. It is located in /var/lib/dpkg/info/flair.list.
I uninstalled both flair and geoviewer and all their dependances and reinstalled with apt install flair but unfortunately the problem remains.
