Flood source in FLUKA

Dear experts,

I tried using the FLOOD option in FLUKA to obtain a uniform photon flux inside a sphere, where particles originate from the sphere’s surface. When I plotted the USRBIN output, I obtained the attached image. I noticed a gradient in the red color inside the sphere; however, I expected it to have a uniform, single color, similar to what is shown in the tutorial PDF (uniform green color) (07_Simple_sources_and_preprocessor_2021_online.pdf). Could you please guide me on whether I made any mistakes?

Please note, in the geometry, there is only a VOID and the material is vacuum.

Regards,

Riya

Dear Riya,

You need to plot only a thin layer in the Y axis.

Dear @riya,

Try to plot not over the entire Y axis range (-1…+1) you set, but over a tiny piece, like -0.01…+0.01. You see this gradient because of the averaging over whole area.

Thank you @horvathd and @Ivan for pointing it out. I will keep that in mind.
