I noticed something odd with the FLUKA 4-5.2 sources. I downloaded both fluka-4-5.2.Linux.src.rpm and fluka-4-5.2.src.tgz, and there are a lot of files present in the RPM but missing from the TGZ.
In particular, the RPM contains several hundred files under include/ (.h files), which seem to be needed when building the Geant4 FlukaCern example.
I compared the two with:
diff -qr fluka-4/ fluka4-5.2/
Please find attached the file with the output of this command.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is it expected that the source RPM contains these additional files, or is something missing from the source TGZ?
Indeed, the packages generation for TGZ and RPM are done independently, and there are a few minor inconsistencies, such as the ones you reported:
few tests removed in the RPM case
make clean should be done before shipping the RPM source (so that build results such as the .h, as well as bin/lib for DPMJET are not included).
We will make a review for the next release and clean them up.
Feel free to use any SRC package though, and then follow the instructions at Geant4 examples: Example FinalState
Notably, the instructions for building the source are in the FLUKA4 section (this makes me realize that in a different section, the lxplus instructions need to be updated due to the Centos7 → Alma 9 lxplus migration).
At (3) in the FLUKA section, the make cpp_headers will allow you to generate these .h files.
