Installation of external neutron cross-section libraries

Dear all,

I have already successfully installed all the available cross-section libraries from:
FLUKA libraries for low-energy neutron pointwise interaction cross sections | The official CERN FLUKA website.
However, I now need to import a different neutron cross-section library that is not included there.

I downloaded the cross-section library of interest from the National Nuclear Data Center (NNDC) website; the downloaded file is a .tar.gz. In addition, I downloaded from Los Alamos National Laboratory repository the corresponding thermal scattering laws (ACE format) for the same library, provided as a .tgz file.

I tried to follow the same installation procedure used for the standard libraries, but in this case it does not work.

Specifically, I need to add to LOW-PWXS some thermal scattering laws that are only available in this library.

Could anyone explain the correct procedure to install and link these thermal scattering laws properly?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Flair: 3.4-5.2
Fluka: 4-5.1

Dear @giorgia.fossati
FLUKA accepts ACE files with TSL in pointwise format only.

You need to expand the files in a new subdirectory under the ${FLUKA}/data/neutron folder
e.g. ${FLUKA}/data/neutron/ace
Once you restart flair, in the LOW-PWXS card you can use as neutron database the subdirectory name e.g. ace where you installed the ACE files
If you have an xsdir file present, fluka/flair will be able to recognise it and offer it as choice.
If not, you can always use the “filename” as an S(a,b) option in the LOW-PWXS, of course you will be limited to 10 characters so the filename cannot be longer than that.
