Dear FLUKA users,
We are delighted to announce the public release of LineBuilder, a Python tool that has been developed to streamline the construction of complex accelerator beam line geometries in FLUKA.
First authored by Alessio Mereghetti during his time at CERN, LineBuilder has been regularly in use at CERN along the last 15 years for handling and developing extended LHC models, among others. In view of its applicability to other facilities, after reaching a maturity stage, it’s our pleasure to share it now with the FLUKA community.
The tool requires the accelerator lattice description via optics (TWISS) files, detailing the accelerator element sequence, and a custom accelerator element database, containing single element models (typically magnets). As a result, it provides a ready-to-use FLUKA input file, where the desired accelerator segment is assembled, including magnetic settings.
