Dear experts,
When I`m running mdstck.f user routine to shut off fission neutrons, I find the run works for small geometry model like a thin plate 1cm1cm0.05cm. But it fails for a large body like a plate 200 cm thick. It is written in the .err file that 'Abort called from EVPWXS reason TVCMS<0. Run stopped!STOP TVCMS<0. ’ Could you please tell me what the reason is and how to deal with the problem?

Dear @YinXianpeng,
Thank you for your question.
If for your analysis you want to discard secondary neutrons produced in nuclear interactions, you have to act on the particle weight (variable WEI
) not on the kinetic energy (TKI
).
You can have a look at two older posts on the Forum where this topic has been discussed:
As a side comment, If you activate point-wise neutron transport in all materials because this is what you need, you should definitely remove the LOW-MAT
cards and the LOW-NEUT
card. In case of doubts on the settings which were finally considered for the simulation, you can always look in the output file.
Best,
Davide
Dear Davide,
Thanks for you helpful suggestions! The mdstck.f is compiled and works successfully. The results show that discarding secondary neutrons can have a significant impact on the neutron spectrum.

Yin
