Resolving KASNEU LEXPLC LFSSSC error triggered by fission and DPA scoring in spatially separated regions under FLUKA Point-wise mode

Dear all:

I encountered the error “Abort called from KASNEU reason LEXPLC && LFSSSC” during a FLUKA deep penetration simulation of a PWR. This crash specifically occurs when Point-wise transport is enabled alongside both fission reactions and DPA scoring via USRBIN, even though the fission-heavy core and the DPA scoring zones are spatially disjoint. Since the simulation runs successfully if I either disable DPA scoring or revert to multi-group mode, I am seeking advice on why fission reactions in a non-scoring region trigger this conflict with the Point-wise DPA algorithm and how to resolve it.

Hello!

Could you send the input file (the relevant part thereof should be enough)?

Cesc

Hi!

For troubleshooting purposes, I have created a simplified model. It retains the core settings (Point-wise mode and spatially separated fission/DPA zones) but simplifies the geometry to quickly reproduce the error.

Dear Kuanhao,

Thanks for reporting. This was indeed a bug affecting DPA scoring when pointwise fission events occur. It will be fixed in the next release (scheduled in the following weeks).

With kind regards,

Cesc

Dear Francesc,

Thanks for your reply. I will try it when it has been fixed.

With regards
