Running on Windows

Hi! I try to run some .inp file using flair installing on Windows via docker. But there are not generated _fort.21 files when run is over. Also run finished during few seconds. This is strangely taking into account that there are generated 10E+9 primary photons. Can someone say why ? Here is .inp file.

Photoyields.inp (2.1 KB)

Dear Sergey,

your input file runs on my installation without any problem.

So, to find out what is wrong with your setup, you will need to look into the .err, .log, and .out files next to the input and in the fluka_xxx folder.

Cheers,
David

Here is error message

Abort called from FLRM64 reason NO RANDOM FILE Run stopped! STOP NO RANDOM FILE

Dear Sergey,

unfortunately it is not possible to tell what is the problem from only this error message. The other files should have other information as well.

Cheers,
David

Here are all .err files of discussed runnin

Hi Sergey,

could you tell me, which version of FLUKA are you using?

Cheers,
David

When I did installation via cmd.exe there was automatically downloaded and installedd 2020.0.beta.2 version

Hi Sergey,

that version of FLUKA is not supported on this forum.
We only support the version distributed on https://fluka.cern/

Cheers,
David

I 've installed FLUKA using recommendations given here. How can I choose during installation the version of FLUKA I need ?

Hi Sergey,

to install the FLUKA version released by CERN, you need to follow the instructions posted on the https://fluka.cern/ website.

The procedure for registration is here: https://fluka.cern/download/registration

And the guide for installation on Windows 10:

  1. https://fluka.cern/documentation/installation/fluka-flair-windows10-wsl
  2. https://fluka.cern/documentation/installation/fluka-linux-macos

Cheers,
David

Is it possible to make installation on Windows7 using guide for installation on Windows 10 ?

Dear Sergey,

sorry for the late answer.

Now there is an option to install CERN’s FLUKA on older Windows versions.
The guide can be found here: https://fluka.cern/documentation/installation/fluka-flair-windows-vagrant

Please let us know, if you have any problem.

Cheers,
David
