Sampling from a phase space file

Dear FLUKA experts,

I am using a phase space file and a source routine to read the same. The source is a circular ring type where the direction vectors are towards its center (143 cm, 150 cm, 455 cm). Using a separate python code, I cross checked the position and direction vectors.
However, after analyzing the photon flux from the USRBIN output, I observed a small central region with dia approx 7 cm is devoid of photon when I took X-Y projection with Z ranging from 454 cm to 455 cm.

Any guidance regarding this matter will be very helpful.

Regards,

Riya

Dear Riya,

It seems to me that the photons with energies greater than 1 keV are not covering this center region, and photons with 1 keV energy don’t have the range to reach it.

Cheers,
David

Thank you @horvathd for the clarification.
