Understandig meaning of PHOTONUC and ELECTNUC

Dear FLUKA experts and users.

I am trying to do a simple calculation of neutron production from a 15 MeV monoenergetic electron beam on a 65Cu sphere. I am doing two sets of calculations, one when SDUM in the PHOTONUC card is empty and another when SDUM = ELECTNUC. The results are slightly different and I am trying to understand why.

Do I understand correctly that the use of the PHOTONUC card with an empty SDUM corresponds to the case where only the photon-nuclear reactions generated by photons of bremsstrahlung radiation are included in the calculation? Do I understand correctly that using a PHOTONUC card with SDUM = ELECTNUC additionally activates the electron-nucleus interaction by emitting a virtual photon that interacts with the nucleus?

Greetings

Adam W.

Dear @AdamW,

Yes, you do understand correctly. It is explained in the PHOTONUC card manual in the note #2.
